Our Wobbler Room has capacity for up to 12 children from 15 months to 2 years. The ratio of adults to children is the same as the Baby Room (1:3) and again a Unit Head is responsible for the smooth running of the room.
Like the Baby Room, Wobblers also have their own fridge and have their own changing facilities within the room. Sleeping facilities are in our separate Sleep Room which is communal to the Baby Room.
Play equipment is geared specifically to their age and stage of development. This encourages children to begin to expand their already established interests.
Wobbler’s also have direct access to the ‘Under 2’ play area at the back of the nursery building.
Montessori philosophy emphasises the importance of independence.
At this stage, Wobblers are introduced to practical life activities such as self-feeding, dressing, and tidying up. These hands-on experiences empower them with confidence and autonomy while enhancing their fine motor skills.
Wobblers experience a surge in language development as they expand their vocabulary and begin forming simple sentences.
Our dedicated staff foster communication skills through engaging storytelling, songs, and interactive conversations, encouraging expressive and receptive language growth.
With increased mobility comes a stronger desire to explore. Our prepared environment includes climbing structures, balance activities, and open spaces to support gross motor skill development.
Activities such as stacking, sorting, and manipulating objects refine fine motor coordination and hand-eye coordination.
As Wobblers begin to engage more with peers, they learn about cooperation, sharing, and expressing emotions. Through guided group activities and role modelling, our staff nurture positive social interactions, helping children develop empathy, patience, and early friendship-building. Sensory experiences remain a key part of Montessori learning. Our environment includes materials designed to stimulate cognitive growth, from shape-sorting puzzles to hands-on exploration of different textures, sounds, and natural materials that enhance problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
