Our Standards

In all aspects of our work environment we are determined to meet and exceed your expectations. Your children could spend up to (53) x amount of hours in our Montessori Centre.

That means it needs to be a place of comfort and a safe haven for them, in the same way your home is. This is also our place of work and we take great pride in having high standards across both centres.

Cleaning

Sticky fingers, little accidents and lots of germs mean that childcare centres can be difficult to clean.

In order to maintain the highest quality of hygiene we ensure that all spillages, and messes are cleared as soon as they happen.

We have a cleaner who is in charge of tidying all areas of the centres each day and staff are tasked with ensuring the cleanliness of our facilities are kept to the highest standard.

Food Preparation

All of the food which we serve to your children, is prepared fresh daily on-site by our cook, Rosemary.

We ensure a variety is given to encourage your children to try new things and broaden their tastes.

Our meals are no ordinary meals

All of our meals are freshly prepared using local produce, and reflect our healthy eating ethos. Your child will love the social aspect to dining, as well as learning to make the right choices and to feed themselves.

A healthy breakfast, hot lunch and light afternoon snack are all provided.

Note that should your child have a specific dietary requirement, gluten or lactose intolerant, vegetarian we will work with you to accommodate those requirements.

Our menu changes on a weekly basis. We provide nutritious meals that incorporate local, seasonal ingredients. We use mealtimes to celebrate festivals and special events, to help children to understand cultures.

We accommodate a range of dietary requirements that are either health, cultural or religious based.

Fresh fruit is provided freely to our children and cooled drinking water is available all day.

Healthy eating habits

We believe in encouraging healthy eating habits from a young age therefore we have devised our meals in a structure that supports healthy eating schemes and provides children with a well-balanced diet.

Learning while growing

Mealtimes should be happy, social occasions where children learn good table manners and develop an understanding of the importance of healthy eating. Staff members sit with the children during mealtimes and encourage the children to develop independence through making choices, including pouring their own drinks and feeding themselves.

How it works

Fresh chilled water is available to the children throughout the day and children are given a wide range of fruit via our rolling snack times.

We offer the children a selection of cereals, toast, breakfast juice and a healthy freshly cooked hot lunch as well as an afternoon snack (sandwiches, homemade banana bread, rice pudding, carrot cake etc).

The littlest ones

We have some small food preparation and storage areas. For example in our baby room, we have a milk kitchen where bottle feeds can be made up as and when required. The baby room is also equipped a fridge in order to keep cooled boiled water for when your baby is thirsty and to keep fresh fruit cut and prepared every day.

Other Facilities

Secure Access

Your child’s safety and happiness are of the absolute paramount importance to us.

We know that you want to be able to go about your work and daily business, safe in the knowledge that we have thought of every possible scenario and have documentation and procedures in place to negate and control any possible harm or discomfort.

This includes a fingerprint system, to ensure access to the nursery is restricted to staff and parents.

Maintenance

We work to keeping our general facilities such as electricity, heating, alarm detection, and internet as up to date as possible.

This includes regular testing and maintenance. Many of our staff have fire risk assessment, health & safety and observation, planning and documentation qualifications.

We hope this means you can rest assured your children are in a safe, warm and easily contactable place.

Accidents

Accidents can happen and we are on hand to diffuse situations.

We always have at least one member of staff in each facility who is qualified in manual handling, paediatric first aid and child protection at, at least a minimum qualification level.

That covers anything from minor bumps and grazes to pre-A&E visits.

Fun Facilities

Yes, these are the important things – well to your kids at least. We offer a range of fun facilities, which are age appropriate, and which encourage and fit into their routine. We use Montessori Methods when thinking of how to utilise the space best. As well as indoor play, we actively encourage outdoor play as much as possible.

Creative, tactile and sensory play takes place through art, music, general play, reading and movement. We know a combination of rest and play is vital, and although your kids may not agree, sleep is an essential component of this.

We have a separate sleeping room which is designed to create a relaxing environment, for babies and wobblers.
